All currently enrolled Appalachian graduate students in good academic standing are eligible to apply for a Graduate Student Research grant up to $400. The grant can be used for research supplies or research related expenses. Receipts or invoices may be required for reimbursement by individual departments.
Students who expect to incur travel expenses related to presenting their research, are encourage to also apply for a GSAS Travel Grant.
Step 1. Have your faculty advisor complete the Faculty Recommendation Form (PDF), sign it and mail it to: Kathy Weaver, Office of Student Research, Room 385, John E. Thomas Administration Building, Appalachian State University, Boone, NC 28608.
Step 2. Submit the Graduate Student Research Application Form..
Application deadlines are October 31, 2007and March 3, 2008. We are currently not accepting applications until our new deadlines are posted.
At the completion of the research, grantees will be asked to submit a Final Report explaining how the award was used and to acknowledge support from the respective funds in any publications resulting from the research.
