International Student Research Grants
All currently enrolled Appalachian undergraduate and graduate students in good academic standing are eligible to apply for a research grant of up to $1500. The purpose of these grants is to support student research endeavors that have an International focus. Three to five International Student Research grants will be awarded. The grant can be used for research supplies or research related expenses. Receipts or invoices may be required for reimbursement by individual departments.
Students who expect to incur travel expenses related to presenting their research, are encourage to also apply for a Travel Grant.
To Apply
Step 1. Have your faculty advisor complete the Faculty Recommendation Form (PDF), sign it and mail it to: Kathy Weaver Stevens, Office of Student Research, Room 385, John E. Thomas Administration Building, Appalachian State University, Boone, NC 28608.
Step 2. Submit the International Student Research Grant Form. The deadline for the International Student Research Grant is Monday, November 2, 2009.
Award Notifications
Award notifications will be made at the end of November.
Final Report
At the completion of the research, grantees will be asked to submit a Final Report explaining how the award was used and to acknowledge support from the respective funds in any publications resulting from the research.
