Prestigious Scholarship Program (PSP) Research Grants

All currently enrolled Appalachian undergraduate students with GPAs of 3.75 or higher are eligible to apply for a PSP Research Grant of up to $750. Grants for international research may be for up to $1000. Applicants also are strongly encouraged to apply for a prestigious scholarship. The PSP Research Grant must be used for research supplies or research related expenses. Receipts or invoices are required for reimbursement. Students who expect to incur domestic travel expenses related to their research, are encouraged to also apply for an Office of Student Research Travel Grant.

To Apply

Step 1. Have your faculty advisor complete the Faculty Recommendation Form (PDF). Have your faculty advisor complete this faculty recommendation form and email it as a PDF attachment to: Dr. Dale E. Wheeler, wheelerde@appstate.edu (RE:PSRG Faculty Recommendation) .

Step 2. Complete and submit the PSP Research Grant Application Form. It is important to have a concise Project Description explaining specifically how the supplies will be used to complete the project. A detailed Budget Justification including vendor, item numbers and exact costs is required.

Award Notifications

Applications will be reviewed and award notifications will be made within two weeks of submission of the completed PSP Research Grant application.

Final Report

At the completion of the research project, grantees are required to submit a Final Report Form explaining how the award was used and to acknowledge support from the respective funds in any publications resulting from the research project.
