  • Undergraduate Research Assistantships are now available through the Office of Student Research. Faculty and undergraduate students in all academic disciplines at ASU are encouraged to submit proposals. Faculty members, in consultation with students, complete an on-line application, due on March 20 (for a Summer URA - starting in 2009) and August 26 (for Fall and/or Spring URA). More>>
  • SNCURCS coming to ASU this fall. The Office of Student Research will host the 4th Annual State of North Carolina Undergraduate Research and Creativity Symposium (SNCURCS) at ASU on Saturday, November 22, 2008. More>>
  • A total of 10 Undergraduate ASU Students delivered 8 different research presentations at the 22nd National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR) at Salisbury University, Salisbury, MD on April 10-12, 2008. More>>
  • The Office of Student Research announces the 2008 International Student Research Grant Fellow Recipients. The OSR is please to announce that 7 ASU students will share a total of approximately $15,000.00 to support their research and creative endeavors that have an international focus. The International Student Research Grant is made possible through the generous sponsorship of the Office of International Education and Development, the Cratis D. Williams Graduate School and the Office of Student Research (OSR). More>>
  • The 11th Annual Celebration of Student Research and Creative Endeavors was held on Thursday, April 24, 2008. Thank you to all of the presenters, mentors, and guests that made our celebration so successful. A total of 75 undergraduate and 47 graduate students presented 122 abstracts representing 21 different departments and 67 Faculty Mentors at this year's event.
  • Congratulations to Sara Kim and Kayce Boggs, graduate dietetic students in the Family and Consumer Science Department at ASU. Sara won first place with Kayce taking the second place award in the graduate student research competition at the 75th North Carolina Dietetic Association State Meeting. The students are mentored respectively by Dr. Lisa McAnulty and Dr. Sarah Jordan and are to be congratulated for this prestigious honor.
  • Public Service Research Program Grants (PSRP) Awards up to $500 are available to undergraduate students who would like to connect public service with their academic/research interests through a senior thesis. More >>
  • ASU Students Participate in the Third Annual State of North Carolina Undergraduate Research and Creativity Symposium (SNCURCS). A total of 20 undergraduate ASU students representing 5 different departments made research presentations at the Third Annual State of North Carolina Undergraduate Research and Creativity Symposium in Greensboro, NC.   • 5 different types of research grants are available. Amounts range from $500 to $1500. Students can apply for an OSR Research Grant, a Be Active NC Appalachian Partnership Grant, a Public Service Research Program Grant, and International Student Research Grant, or a Graduate Student Research Grant.
